The paper investigates tactile attributes of food wrapping materials in Thailand based on Kansei Engineering and finds that 1) there are two major Kansei dimensions in tactile sense of food wrapping materials, 2) the emotion of like constitutes one of the two dimensions both with smooth and natural , and 3) the most favorable wrapping material for Thai is plastic foam among nine different wrapping materials; plastic bag, aluminum foil, plastic film, paper, banana leaf, wax paper, plastic net, plastic air bubble and plastic foam. The study was conducted through a questionnaire that asked 6 pairs of emotions about samples; dislike - like, rough - smooth, stable - flexible, tight - wrinkled, fine – fiber and refined - natural. A semantic differential measurement was used for the evaluation and the principal component analysis for the analysis. The study could be applied to the design of many other senses

วารสารวิชาการและวิจัย มทร.พระนคร, 12(2) : 103-114The health care industry is one of the rapid growth industries in Thailand. Thai government has promoted and set a strategic policy to by “Medical Hub of Asia”since 2004. Therefore, the chief executive officers of many hospitals have determined strategies to improve their service quality because of the global competition. Service competition. Service quality which refers to customer perceptions of the service process has been considered. Sansei Engineering can be the best tool for translating customer perceptions and emotions to the psychical desire attributes. This study conducted sansei engineering and service quality to analyze the relationships between service quality and customer’s emotion and feeling. The decision making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) was employed to constructs the cause-effect relationship of criteria of the model that can be described complexity of causal relationships. The results show that tangible and empathy are the key factors that should be considered as the first priority for improving by public hospitals directors. Abstract Ceramic is one of the highly competitive products in Thailand. Many Thai ceramic companies are attempting to know the customer needs and perceptions for making favorite products. To know customer needs is the target of designers and to develop a product that must satisfy customers. This research is applied Kansei Engineering (KE) and Data Mining (DM) into the customer driven product design process. KE can translate customer emotions into the product attributes. This method determines the relationships between customer feelings or Kansei words and the design attributes. Decision tree J48 and Class association rule which implemented through Waikato Environment for Knowledge Analysis (WEKA) software are used to generate a predictive model and to find the appropriate rules. In this experiment, the emotion scores were rated by 37 participants for training data and 16 participants for test data. 6 Kansei words were selected, namely, attractive, ease of drinking, ease of handing, quality, modern and durable. 10 mugs were selected as product samples. The results of this study indicate that the proposed models and rules can interpret the design product elements affecting the customer emotions. Finally, this study provides useful understanding for the application DM in KE and can be applied to a variety of design cases
